An MX value looks like 10 mail.example.com: preference, then the exchange. Free is 3 lookups a day. This lookup does not request a zone transfer.

Custom hostnames

Optional. One per line, or separated by commas or spaces. A bare label is probed under the domain you look up (staging → staging.example.com). A full name must belong to that domain — names outside it are skipped.

Leave blank to probe only the built-in common hosts and mail-auth names.

How MX results are collected

The apex is queried for MX along with A, AAAA, CNAME, NS, TXT, SOA, SRV, CAA, and HTTPS. MX answers are shown as preference and exchange in one value, for example 10 mail.example.com. TTL is the DNS-over-HTTPS TTL.

A hostname such as mx.example.com is a different question from the domain’s MX record set. The inventory also probes a host named mx, plus autodiscover and other common names. If that host is a CNAME, the row is the CNAME.

Use the record-type filter to show only MX. CSV, JSON, XML, and PDF export the rows currently in the table, with provenance on each row. SPF, DMARC, and DKIM from the same scan stay available when the filter is set back to all types.

Questions

Does this show MX priority?
Each MX value starts with the preference number, then the exchange hostname, such as 10 mail.example.com. Lower numbers are preferred. There is no separate priority column.
Is an mx hostname the same as an MX record?
An MX record names the mail servers for the domain. A host called mx is another name in the inventory. Both can appear. Filter to MX to see mail exchanger records.
Will I see mail-auth records on this page?
The lookup is the full inventory, so SPF, DMARC, and the built-in DKIM selectors are included. Filter to TXT to read those, or to MX to hide them.
Can I export only the MX rows?
Set the record-type filter to MX, then export. CSV, JSON, XML, and PDF use the filtered table. Provenance and TTL are included.
