Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Welcome to DNS CSV (dns-csv.com), a free DNS information retrieval tool. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you about how we look after your personal data when you visit our website and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
2. Data We Collect
DNS CSV is designed with privacy in mind. All DNS queries are processed entirely in your browser (client-side), meaning we do not receive or store your DNS query data. We may collect the following types of data:
- Technical Data: includes internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website. This data is collected automatically through Vercel Analytics.
- Usage Data: includes information about how you use our website and services, such as page views, session duration, and general usage patterns. This is collected through Vercel Analytics for the purpose of improving our service.
- DNS Query Data: We do not collect or store DNS query data. All DNS lookups are performed directly from your browser to DNS providers (Cloudflare and Google DNS) using DNS over HTTPS (DoH). The domains and subdomains you query, along with their DNS records, are processed entirely in your browser and are never sent to our servers. You may choose to export this data to your device in CSV, JSON, or XML format, but this export is handled entirely on your side.
3. How We Use Your Data
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:
- To provide and maintain our DNS lookup service
- To improve our website and services through usage analytics
- To analyze usage patterns and optimize user experience (via Vercel Analytics)
- To comply with legal obligations
Important: We do not use your DNS query data for any purpose because we do not collect it. All DNS queries are performed client-side and never transmitted to our servers.
4. Data Security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed. We limit access to your personal data to those who have a genuine business need to know it.
Since DNS queries are processed entirely in your browser, your DNS query data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it. This provides an additional layer of privacy and security for your DNS lookups.
5. Data Retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for. Usage analytics data collected through Vercel Analytics is retained according to Vercel's data retention policies.
DNS Query Data: We do not retain DNS query data because we do not collect it. All DNS queries are processed in real-time in your browser and are not stored on our servers. If you export DNS records to your device, those files are stored locally on your device and are subject to your own data retention practices.
6. Your Legal Rights
Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data, including the right to:
- Request access to your personal data
- Request correction of your personal data
- Request erasure of your personal data
- Object to processing of your personal data
- Request restriction of processing your personal data
- Request transfer of your personal data
- Right to withdraw consent
7. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Vercel Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics about how visitors interact with our website. This helps us understand usage patterns and improve our service. Vercel Analytics collects data such as page views, session duration, and general usage metrics. For more information, see Vercel's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare DNS & Google DNS: DNS queries are performed directly from your browser to Cloudflare DNS and Google DNS using DNS over HTTPS (DoH). These providers may log DNS queries according to their own privacy policies. We do not control or have access to these logs.
This website may also include links to third-party websites. Clicking on those links may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements.
