Custom hostnames

What the CSV contains

The lookup queries the apex for A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT, SOA, SRV, CAA, and HTTPS. It also probes a fixed list of common hostnames and mail-auth names, including SPF, DMARC, and widely deployed DKIM selectors. Names that do not exist are omitted.

CSV columns are Record Type, Hostname, Value, TTL, and Provenance. JSON and XML use the same fields. PDF opens a print view of the current table, including any record-type filter you applied.

Provenance is configured when the record is published at that hostname. It is resolved when the address was followed from a CNAME, and for apex A or AAAA answers on nameservers that may synthesize the address. Paste up to 100 extra hostnames to probe names outside the built-in list. A bare label is expanded under the domain. Names outside the zone are skipped.

Questions

Is this a full DNS zone export?
DNS CSV does not request a zone transfer. It inventories the apex, a fixed set of common hosts, and mail-auth names, plus any custom hostnames you paste. Records on names outside that set are omitted unless you add the hostname.
Which columns are in the CSV?
Record Type, Hostname, Value, TTL, and Provenance. JSON and XML downloads use the same fields. TTL is the value returned by DNS-over-HTTPS. Provenance is configured or resolved.
Does the export include CAA and HTTPS records?
Yes, when they are published. The apex is queried for CAA and HTTPS. Common hosts that are not CNAMEs are queried for those types too. An empty result means no record was returned for the names that were probed.
